“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.” (Psalm 27:4)

The most recent update from Shmuel and Pamela Suran can be accessed by clicking here.  It begins with:

"If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth, if I do not remember you, if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy"! (Psalms 137:5-6)

“Jerusalem's Reunification: Back in Time to 1967”
Dearest Family and Friends, Shalom from Jerusalem! Jerusalem Day is an Israeli national holiday commemorating the reunification of Jerusalem and the establishment of Israeli control over the Old City in June 1967. Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) is a special day for lovers of Jerusalem, celebrating the 45th anniversary of its Six-Day War and reunification in 1967 after nearly 20 centuries of exile. The day commemorates the miraculous liberation of the Old City of Jerusalem on the 28th of Iyar, 5727 (June 7, 1967) just days after several Arab armies threatened to wipe the State of Israel off the map. Israel took the initiative with a surprise, defensive attack, wiping out the Egyptian Air Force in one day, and taking over Jerusalem, Gaza, Judea, Samaria, the Sinai and the Golan Heights shortly thereafter. Weeks of national trepidation and tension, including the preparing of thousands of body-bags in Jerusalem and elsewhere, suddenly gave way to celebration and thanksgiving.

Dear JLPF Partner,

It is a joy for me to share the attached "Partner Profile" with you.  It is from our dear friends, Shmuel & Pamela Suran.  They are both Messianic Jews who live and minister in Israel.  Shmuel is a Jewish Christian Rabbi and Pamela is one of the few Evangelical Christian Guides in Israel.  She is also an incredible artist.  Together they lead a ministry known as Chazon Yerushalayim, or "Jerusalem Vision," which is based in Jerusalem.  They have a wonderful ministry to both Jews and Arabs in Jerusalem and Israel.  Pamela will also be guiding a Bible Study Tour of Israel that Patt and I will be leading November 9 - 19 -- which we hope many of you will be a part of.

However, whether or not you go to Israel with us, their latest newsletter is a timely read.  It is about an important "prophetic paradigm shift" that many Gentile Christians struggle with.  It doesn't matter whether you are a dispensationalist, premillinnialist, amillennialist, postmillennialist -- or embrace Replacement Theology, this is a worthwhile read for any Christian.

Also, regardless of your eschatology (belief about the Second Advent of the Lord Jesus) when it comes to Israel, the Jews and Gentile Church, I hope you will also download and study my book: "Understanding Your Jewish Roots."  I believe it will help you better understand the spiritual roots of Judaism that you were grafted into as a Believer.

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem" (Ps. 122:6),

JL & Patt
