Herbert Mkwala

Herbert Mkwala is a businessman who has worked for the Mining Company in Hwange, Zimbabwe, all of his adult life. As a young man, he started at the bottom working in the mines. Over the years he worked up to a senior advisory position supervising hundreds of other mine workers. During all of these years, Herbert has been an active member of the Assembly of God Church founded by our partner, Pastor Simon Mkolo. Because of Herbert's keen organizational skills and experience, he has been the administrator for the ever-growing and expanding ministry of Pastor Mkolo.

In this capacity, Herbert has overseen the construction of all of the rural “bush churches” we have been able to fund for Pastor Mkolo across the past 3 decades.  He has also supervised JL’s priority project with Pastor Simon—the building and development of the Conference Center and Ebenezer Bible College.  In addition, Herbert has supervised the other self-support initiatives JL has partnered with them to develop like well and water projects, drip irrigation garden projects, sewing program for needy women, food distribution for the poor.  Herbert Mkwala has been the “can do” man for both Pastor Simon Mkolo and JL.
