Pastor Wilbur Outten
Wilbur has been JL's closest friend and partner in the Bahamas for over 25 years. They first met when JL was traveling and ministering in the Bahamas with "Damascus Road," a small Christian Rock musical ministry from NDI. At that time Wilbur was a young successful businessman -- but with the call on his life for vocational Christian ministry. That began a mentoring friendship and partnership that has continued to this day. In time, God called Wilbur from being a business entrepreneur to being a spiritual entrepreneur as the Senior Pastor of the Freeport Bible Church (FBC).
It was a part of the Bahama Evangelical Church Fellowship (BECA), and soon became the flagship of that association of churches throughout the Bahamas. Today Wilbur continues to pastor the FBC as well as serve as the President of the BECA, giving it dynamic visionary leadership. A part of the ministry of the BECA is ministering to the thousands of Haitian Diaspora living and working throughout the Bahamas. Through this partnership with Pastor Wilbur—along with his partnership with Coy Tillett and the “Manteo Miracle Men”—3 churches have been built for the Haitians living in Andros, Abaco and Freeport. JL is currently partnering with Arie VanWingerden of Double Harvest to develop a large farming project on Abaco—all in association with Pastor Wilbur and the BECA.
