Murli & Usha Menon - Coimbatore, India
Murli and Usha are definitely two of the most dynamic young leaders in India today. He was born into a high-achieving Hindu family of accountants. She was born into the family of Thomas Samuel, one of the early pioneer Christian leaders in India, who is in his 8th decade of ministry today. Murli is the founder and CEO of both Impact International and Impact of Hope International. He and Usha were literally the very first Indian nationals who welcomed JL on his first trip to India several decades ago. That began a very close friendship and partnership that has continued, deepened and widened to this day.
JL often describes Murli as a “young Ravi Zachariah” because of his keen mind and articulate speaking gifts. He is head of a seminary whose goal is to train national leaders for evangelism and church planting. Usha is the adopted mother for 22 little girls that would have been the victims of female infanticide if they would not have been rescued. These girls are now living and thriving in one of the “Girls Homes” built and supported by Murli and Usha, along with several other homes for the poorest of the poor children of India. Both the seminary and the girls’ home are located on one of the most beautiful and spacious campuses in India, a project JL has been closely involved with since its beginning. JL continues to make yearly trips to India to co-mininster with Murli and Usha in their ever-growing ministry.
