It is a joy to share with our JLPF Partners these pictures of Bishop Trevor Manhanga in Zimbabwe. He is not only one of the most influential pastors and Christian leaders in the country, he is also setting a great example of self-sufficiency in the very difficult and challenging economy of Zimbabwe. In recent years, Zimbabwe has suffered the highest inflation in human history! But with the dollarization of the economy, things are really beginning to turn around economically. And through his drip irrigation gardens and chicken projects, he is providing food and eggs for needy people as well as for market.
Bishop Trevor's life and ministry are wonderful examples of the kinds of income-generating, self-support projects we love to partner with. He is also a fulfillment of Paul's admonition to Titus: "Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order that they may provide for daily necessities and not live unproductive lives" (Titus 3:14).

Dear Ministry Partners,
I have just received an exciting email from Bishop Trevor Manhanga. He was recently with me here in North Carolina speaking to businessmen and entrepreneurs about the importance of investing spiritually and economically in Zimbabwe now. As you know from my previous emails and reports, he is one of the most strategic young leaders from Zimbabwe. In addition to building the "Victory Center" as one of the largest and most influential churches in Zimbabwe, God has given him great influence in the political realm. Recently he was asked to again give the opening prayer at his country's Independence Day Celebration – the equivalent to our July 4th Commemoration. Below is the email he sent me from the National Stadium immediately after he opened this historic gathering with prayer – which is both pastoral and prophetic. Please read it prayerfully as you thank God for Bishop Trevor's life and leadership for the Kingdom in Zimbabwe during these very exciting days of political and economic change.
After you read his prayer, note also another email he just sent me about their annual "Leadership Summit" at Victory Tabernacle. You will be blessed by the pictures and report…JL

Prayer Request: Zimbabwe Independence Day
Dear Friends of Bishop Trevor Manhanga…please pray for him on April 18th. Once again God has exalted him to a place of national prominence. The email below explains why he especially needs your prayer. This is a unique opportunity at a critical time in the life of Zimbabwe! JL
"I cherish your prayers as once again this year I have been asked to come and give the opening prayer and Bible reading at our nations "Independence Day Celebrations" on 18th April. Everybody who is anybody is there and it is broadcast live to the nation on both radio and TV so I cherish your prayers so that in the time allotted to me the Lord will convey what He wants the nation to hear." Thanks, Trevor
