I am primarily an evangelist and teacher who travels around the world in apostolic ministry as God leads and enables me. In addition to preaching and teaching the Bible, I mentor our key partners to be more strategic and impactful for the Gospel in their countries and cultures, just as they continue to mentor me. I am relationally focused rather than program or project focused in ministry relationships and partnerships.
Dear NDI & KE Partners,
This morning I arrived back home from Duke Medical Center around noon. It is a joy to write and let you know that the implantation of the Pacemaker went perfectly – apparently a textbook case. To God be the glory! I know the positive results was because of the excellent medical staff at Duke plus the prayers and intercession of our national and international partners. Patt and I went through this procedure with a great sense of the presence and peace of the Lord Jesus and the love and prayers of His saints.
I had a great time of sharing with the nurses, doctors and staff in the Operating Room before and while the procedure was taking place –until they made me stop talking, that is! Several were Christians so I took the opportunity to pray for everyone as I was being prepped on the gurney. I told them I was an “underground recruiter” for medical missions and was there to sign them up! I have each of their addresses and will follow up by sending them one of my books and some literature this week.
Now please pray that I will be able to “gear down” and “slow down” for a couple of weeks. I feel so good with no pain at all that it will be hard for me not to “hit the ground running” at my normal pace. As I have already shared with some of you personally, ‘Pacemaker’ to means that I can “increase the pace” of my life and ministry – just like a re-wired Energizer Bunny on steroids! However, the Doctors have given me a stern warning to take it slower for the rest of the month. And Patt has “nailed my shoes to the kitchen floor” so I cannot move out too quicly! She also asked the doctors for a remote control on my Pacemaker so she can “dial me down” when I get to hyper – which of course never happens to a laid-back guy like me! So she requests prayer as she monitors my level of activity.
Finally, I will be using this “down time” to do a lot of emails, correspondence and phone calls – so write or call me1 I hope to also be able to complete several more books that I have been working on over the past year: Follow The Leader, The Rise & Fall of Satan, The Grace of Giving, The New Direction in Missions, 21 Principles for Living and Giving. So those will keep me busy and fulfilled1
In addition, I have several of our key national partners coming here for the month of October: Murli Menon from India, Stakwell Yurenimo from Kenya and Ibrahim AgMohamed from Timbuktu. Then Bishop Trevor Manhanga will be coming the first week of November. Since I will not be able to travel and speak with them as usual, I will be coaching from my office at home. So do be praying for each of these brothers.
Thanks again for your love and prayers that God has used to bring me through this surgery…]
In His Healing Love,
