As you already aware of the persecution news from India. The situation is becoming worst day by day. There are several incidents which are not even reported as it has become a day to day activity. It is very common thing to hear that a pastor/evangelist is beaten up. Few days back 3 pastors who were showing a Jesus film in a village in Maharashtra state, were beaten severely and their projector was broken completely. They took of 5 teeth of one of the evangelists with a plyer, he was unconscious for 2 days.

In our church, 17 persons are ready for the baptism. They all are form hindu community. But now the legal procedure to get converted in India is very difficult. A person, who wishes to change his faith or accepted Christ and wants to take baptism, has to submit an application to the district magistrate one month prior to the baptism. The district magistrate will investigate the motive behind the conversion and if he gets satisfied then he will give a permission to take baptism. A baptism without a written permission of the district magistrate will be treated as an offence, and the pastor can be charged under the anti conversion act and will be imprisoned for up to 2 years.

There are several religion based parties/groups that are anti Christians and want to eliminate Christianity from India. Their target is to beat or kill one pastor each day and is deadly against conversions. They are getting more active and aggressive day by day.

Please pray for the people who are ready for the baptisms in our Church, that they may follow the correct procedure, so that the bad consequences may be avoided.
