Dear Friends,
Another great time was had by all at the annual New Directions get-together at Sam and Alesia Burnette’s on December 26th. With lots of food to feed way more than were there, we laughed and ate, and talked and ate, and sang and ate! Such fun!! It was also wonderful to see the next generation in attendance. 3 or 4 are in the military, either presently enlisted or shortly going into three of the services—Army, Navy and Marines. That generation is having the first wedding on January 17th : David Fraser and Lisa Evans. Can you believe we’re that old?! There was plenty of relaxed time to visit with those we hadn’t seen since last year, and just enjoy being together. For those who missed it, please plan to join us next year. (I’m sure Sam and Alesia don’t mind me inviting more of y’all to come.)
With love, because He came,

Dear ND Alumni,
Through the years we took thousands of pictures of the ND’s in action in every ministry context imaginable. But from time to time we tried to take a “promo picture” for reports or that could be used to advertise the group in churches, schools, malls, prisons – or wherever. I have gone through our files and tried to pick the best of the “staged pictures” of the groups through the years. I hope you will enjoy looking through them – and seeing how many times you can find yourself!

Dear JL (AKA “the constant gardener”),
Although I have shared my feeling in a casual way regarding my recent travels with you to Kenya and Zimbabwe, I wanted to reflect further…
As the calendar continues to flip inexorably, it becomes more obvious that the wonderful memories of the past were necessary steps to arrive at “today in Christ”. With age comes the joy of nostalgia and the remembrance of all the great people that I know now God put together. I remember fondly the late sixties and early seventies and how you and my contemporaries shaped my life. To be reunited with you for sixteen days was a true blessing (a blessing with fatigue!!) and it also made me miss all the old NDI friends. I wish we had all been there together. It was also good to bond in ministry with Bill, Daniel, and Wells.
